These are a few custom pieces you won't find online... I created these 2 tote bags for a coworker. She was carrying around a tote that was given to her 2 years ago by the company we work for. Needless to say this company issued tote had the company logo screenprinted very largely on both sides. She loved the size of the bag, but wanted pockets and was tired of giving away free advertising. Anyhow, she came down today to gush about how happy she is with her purchase. The black and white one is the one that she's is sporting. The leopard print one was created for her cousin who loves animal prints. There is divided slip pockets along the back lining and there's a zippered pocket on the front. The strap is 27" long and it sits about 14" from the shoulder.

Bit Baubles and Buttons
I just have to share with everyone my recent purchase from a wonderful crafty lady. Her name is Bridget and she is a mom, blogger, sewer, knitter and jewelry artisan. Now if you know me, I'm not a big jewelry person but when I seen her "Amber Ring" I fell in love. I told my husband about it a few months ago. I am not sure if he thought I was joking or what, but I never did receive it for our anniversary.
Anyhow, over the weekend she had a Black Friday sale (much like most businesses online) and since I had one a contest that she was holding I got an extra percentage off! I jumped online and ordered this ring and some earrings for my daughter. Monday morning I got notification that this shipped so everyday I patiently waited for my ring to make it's long journey from Mississippi to Pennsylvania. Last night I ran home and ran down to the mail box with a big "Kook-Aid" smile on my face. I know my ring was here!!! I opened the package and there it was all wrapped up in blue tissue paper and bubble wrap. I loved her little sticker that held the tissue paper together (she's a graphic artist too)...So here are the photos.. Let's just say I am a very happy and satisfied customer.

Jillian Clutch
I decided to bring the Jillian clutch back. I asked my fans on FaceBook and they all were excited to see any new creations. After looking at fabric in my stash for a week or so, I decided that I needed to cut something out already!
I used Amy Butler fabric for the back and flap portion and a black cotton twill for the lower. There is an inner slit pocket inside and a silver buckle on the front.
I've carried this clutch in the past and one thing that I do love about it is the fact that it is adjustable. The buckle can be used as is, or if you are like me and love to cram lots of stuff in your small bag, you can let out the strap so you'll be able to easily close it once again.

Inspired
I was on Etsy early this morning looking for some new and interesting handbag handles. I came acroose a vendor who has beautiful handles. I loved this one in particular. I was thinking of making a large clutch and adding this as a closure. I've already started drafting some ideas and hopefully, I will purchase this and make something lovely!

The Rain Don't Last
While listening to Pandora Radio this weekend, this song came on a few times. I gave it a "thumbs up" and now it is played as one of my favorites. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did...
Lyrics compliments of Lets Sing It
Mmmm... Mmm... oohhmmm...
Could it be the world's gone colder?
Maybe, I'm a losing soul
The more I try it just gets harder
And my pain is getting old
Somebody said that nothing lasts forever
Just the storm so I've been told
But it seems that when it rains it pours
And you know the rain won't last forever
And you know the storm won't always flow
But if the sun don't shine forever
You gotta let it go
Sometimes my burdens get so heavy
And it seems too hard to bear
Sometimes I feel so empty
And it feels like no one's there
Somebody said that nothing lasts forever
Just the storm so I've been told
But it seems that when it rains it pours
And you know the rain won't last forever
And you know the storm won't always flow
But if the sun don't shine forever
You gotta let it go
And you gotta let it go...
And you gotta let it go...
Mmmm... Mmm... oohhmmm...

Amy Butler and Area Rugs???
I just opened up my email to reveal my latest newsletter from Amy Butler Design... I love all thinks Amy Butler and wish I could afford one of her rugs... This one below is my favorite, but at a eye-popping $799 for a 5' by 7.6' rug, I find that hardly affordable for someone working with my budget. Oh well, another thing to add to my "when I win the powerball" wish list.

Fabrics
I finally got a chance to sit down and photograph most of the fabrics for my website. It took longer than expected because the kitties enjoy being in everything including the fabric. It was tough to "shoo" the cats away, lint roll any stray hairs and photograph at the same time, but I did it and I am happy with the results.

Our Newest Family Pet
My daughter wanted a pet snail for the longest time. I did some research to try to find one and found that the best place to get a snail was outside your home. Purchasing a snail online was a bit tricky with all the laws in transporting them from state to state. Well, after several months of searching at night and under bushes and trees we gave up. Snails aren't common where we live so unless we moved to a "snail friendly" area, finding a snail outside wasn't going to happen.
We went to Ocean City, Maryland for our vacation and when we were packing up to leave, I went outside to stack up the patio chairs. When I lifted the last one up, I noticed a small little critter attached to one of the legs. "OMG!", I screamed. My daughter went running assuming it was a spider. I picked the snail and took it in the house. He is just a little guy so I put him in a water bottle lid for the ride home. We hooked him up with a nice terrarium when we got home. I guess he's been enjoying the environment, because he felt "comfortable" and safe enough to lay his eggs. Now we have five itty bitty snail babies and one small momma/poppa...
The picture below is the momma/poppa trying to escape as I was searching for one of the little babies to photograph this morning. We like to think snails are slow, but really.. they aren't...
This photo shows the size of the momma and the baby. The momma won't grow much bigger than what she already is. The baby right now is about the size of a sesame seed... he's very tiny....
I found a great blog (Snail's Tales) that I have started following about all things snails and other interesting things. I think our snail comes from the "discus" family. As of right now, I am enjoying the new pet, my daughter is too. I hope she continues, but if not, I guess we can release him back into the wild. I remember having to wait 4 years for a hamster to "pass on"... and I thought hamsters only lived for up to 2 years.. may you rest in peace Hamtaro **tear**

It's Ok to Quit
I got this in an email and thought I'd share. This is a speech written by motivational speaker Veraunda Jackson.
1. Quit arguing with people about the same old foolishness! Respect their position and keep it moving!
2. Quit telling people your secrets when you know they are not going to keep them! And if you keep telling them, then quit getting mad when they tell your secrets!
3. Quit trying to pull people on your journey who don't want to travel with you. Either they believe in you and value you...or they don't!
4. Quit complaining about things you can't and won't change!
5. Quit gossiping about other people! Minding our own business should be a full time job!
6. Quit blaming each other for things that in the big picture aren't going to matter three weeks from now! Talk solutions....and then implement them!
7. Quit eating things you know are not good for you! If you can't quit... eat smaller portions!
8. Quit buying things when we know we can't afford them! If you don't have self control, then quit going to the stores! Quit charging things, especially when you don't NEED them!
9. Quit staying in unhealthy relationships! It is not okay for people to verbally or physically abuse you! So quit lying to yourself! It is not okay to stay in the marriage for the children! Ask them and they will tell you that they really would prefer to see you happy and that the misery you and your spouse/partner are living with is affecting them!
10. Quit letting family members rope you into the drama! Start telling them you don't want to hear it! Quit spreading the drama! Quit calling other relatives and telling them about your cousin, uncle,or aunt! Go back to #5 minding your own business should be enough to keep you busy!
11. Quit trying to change people! IT DOESN'T WORK! Quit cussing people out when you know that they are just being the miserable and jealous people that they are!
12. Quit the job you hate! Start pursuing your passion. Find the job that fuels your passion BEFORE you quit!
13. Quit volunteering for things that you aren't getting any personal fulfillment from anymore! Quit volunteering for things and then failing to follow through with your commitment!
14. Quit listening to the naysayers! Quit watching the depressing news if you are going to live in the doom and gloom of it all!
15. Quit making excuses about why you are where you are or why you can't do what you want to do!
16. Quit waiting on others to give you the answers...and start finding the answers for yourself! If what you are doing isn't working for you... then quit it!
17. Quit settling and start making your dreams a reality! Quit being afraid and START LIVING YOUR LIFE! CREATE THE LIFE YOU WANT! If you want something different than what you have had in the past... you must quit doing what you have done before and DO something different! JUST QUIT IT ...... and START DOING something to create the experience you want!

I've been busy lately and have neglected my website for a few weeks now. Well today I told myself that I was going to go home and work on my website when I got out of work at noon today. Well after I met my hubby for lunch, I did go home and do just that. I sat at home and made some minor adjustments to fonts and other stuff. I also made my product pages for some of my pages and finally put add to cart buttons on those pages. Now you will be able to purchase bags and accessories on the website. Hopefully I'll have all the pages done over the weekend.

Sausage & Bowties
Last night I posted a picture of one of my favorite dinner's to make, Sausage and Bowties. Everyone on my Facebook commented how good it looked and wanted the recipe. I've already substituted different meats like chicken and shrimp and it came out delicious. I still prefer the italian sausage best. If you don't eat pork you can use the turkey italian sausage which is just as good, even though my husband claims he can taste a difference...
Ingredients:
1 lb italian sausage
1 box (16 oz) bowties
2 sweet peppers ( i used 1 green and 1 red), sliced
(**you can use the frozen pepper stir-fry blend, but the veggies don't get as crisp)
1 medium sized yellow onion, sliced
Olive Oil
Italian Seasoning
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions:
1. Cook the Bowties, according to directions on box and your preference. I like al-dente
2. Put your sausage links in a large skillet with 1-2 cups of water. Boil them until just about done.
3. Remove from pan and let rest for about 15 minutes.
4. Cut sausage into 1/2" slices
5. Remove water from skillet and heat up about 2 tbsp of oil.
6. Add sausage and cook until browned and well done
7. Once sausauge is well done, add the peppers and onions and stirfry until veggies are crisp.
8. Drain your pasta and return to pot.
9. Add enough olive oil to coat the pasta and enough Italian seasoning, salt and pepper to your liking.
Mix it up
- Use minced garlic in this recipe with broccoli and shrimp
- Lemon herb Grilled chicken and broccoli is another
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I have.

Jenni Clutch
I created this bag about 2 years ago. I called it the Jenni clutch (because it matched the Jenni pleated tote). I only made 3 of them. 1 in orange floral, one in black and white floral and one in solid black. I was going through some old photos today and found this photo. It took me back to the first day I made this. I loved that bag, why did I stop making it? Who knows!! Sometimes I do things just because. There's not always a reason why I do (or don't do) things. But my reason for drafting a new pattern is because I loved this bag... Yeah I know I've already said that, but I do love it. I hope to get home tonight and get on sewing a few of them up. The next few will have some changes made. First, the flap will be wider. That way if you drop your bag, all your belongings won't go flying. The next change will be the addition of a detachable strap. I hope to get the pattern for this drafted up tonight so I can start on them before I go on vacation on the 19th.
What do you think about the Jenni Clutch. Is it something you'd carry?

Calendar
And it's up... I have been wanting to post a calendar of events on my website forever, but didn't like the idea of just making a list. That would be to hard to keep up with. I don't update that often and besides, I don't care to see event's that aren't updated on other people's sites. Anyhow, I got mine from Google. It allows me to add my events to the calendar and it automatically does the updating for me. Now I have my sale's listed (with details). I have a few craft shows listed as well. I'm so happy!

Happy Birthday
to me. If you didn't already know. Today was my birthday. I woke up and had a great morning. I came to work. I had a wonderful surprise in my email box. I submitted a "Bright Idea" and it was approved and implemented. YAY! I have tons of bright ideas, but this was the first one that was approved. I am happy to be submitting wonderful ideas on how to improve processes at work. I also got a wonderful Edible Arrangement from my daring husband... he's a sweet heart.
I also got some chocolate covered apples, oranges and strawberries from my good friend Jenn. I love chocolate covered oranges. I first tried them 3 months ago when I got her an Edible Arrangement for her birthday. All I can say is that my diet I wanted to start today just got postponed for another day. You can't waste good chocolate, right???
Oh, I guess I should also note that I have a sale going in to celebrate my birthday. You can receive 29% off your total purchase from now until Saturday, June 6th. Enter coupon code JUNE29 at checkout to receive the discount.

My week so far
Didn't feel like making bags so I made a few of these on Monday...(fyi.. they are pocket tissue holders)
Loved these when I saw them. I found the tutorial online here and I made some...
And I started a bedspread for my daughter today. I found this fabric called "Running 8th's" at Joann Fabrics a few weeks ago. I also found a pattern for pillows that I liked so I took the pillow pattern and just started making blocks. I am hoping to have the blocks sewn together tonight and back it with some fleece sometime this weekend. I am still debating what color I should buy the fleece in.
Ah..2 more days... I am enjoying my time off... I love being home with the cats. I love them but they are super lazy and have a strange way of convincing me to take an afternoon nap before my daughter comes home. I hope to ward off the lazy kitty spell and to get some more stuff made up.. I have a show on Saturday!
