Bridget Bag

I was approached months ago from a very supportive customer. She loved the Mascara bag (she already purchased 2) but she wanted something bigger and with round handles. It took me a while to get it together, but this year, I started a weekly "to-do" list. Bridgets bag was number one on that list. I sat down on Tuesday and drafted up a pattern. Wednesday I cut it out and sewed it together and Thursday I posted it on Facebook for her to see. Well let me tell you, she LOVED it! I posted it to my Facebook page and already had another person wanting it already. I have lots of work to do this weekend =)

I know she doesn't want me to sell her bag to anyone but her, BUT if you like it and want some jewelry to match check her site out. I think this would go real nice with this Bridget bag

Custom Totes

These are a few custom pieces you won't find online... I created these 2 tote bags for a coworker. She was carrying around a tote that was given to her 2 years ago by the company we work for. Needless to say this company issued tote had the company logo screenprinted very largely on both sides. She loved the size of the bag, but wanted pockets and was tired of giving away free advertising. Anyhow, she came down today to gush about how happy she is with her purchase. The black and white one is the one that she's is sporting. The leopard print one was created for her cousin who loves animal prints. There is divided slip pockets along the back lining and there's a zippered pocket on the front. The strap is 27" long and it sits about 14" from the shoulder.

Diva clutch

I am loving the new clutch. It's called the Diva clutch. It's 13 1/2 inches wide and 7 inches tall. It's a flat style clutch that can hold a nice amount. There is a snap closure on the inside (lining) to keep your belongings inside incase of a fall.

Jillian Clutch

I decided to bring the Jillian clutch back. I asked my fans on FaceBook and they all were excited to see any new creations. After looking at fabric in my stash for a week or so, I decided that I needed to cut something out already!

I used Amy Butler fabric for the back and flap portion and a black cotton twill for the lower. There is an inner slit pocket inside and a silver buckle on the front.

I've carried this clutch in the past and one thing that I do love about it is the fact that it is adjustable. The buckle can be used as is, or if you are like me and love to cram lots of stuff in your small bag, you can let out the strap so you'll be able to easily close it once again.

Jenni Clutch

I created this bag about 2 years ago. I called it the Jenni clutch (because it matched the Jenni pleated tote). I only made 3 of them. 1 in orange floral, one in black and white floral and one in solid black. I was going through some old photos today and found this photo. It took me back to the first day I made this. I loved that bag, why did I stop making it? Who knows!! Sometimes I do things just because. There's not always a reason why I do (or don't do) things. But my reason for drafting a new pattern is because I loved this bag... Yeah I know I've already said that, but I do love it. I hope to get home tonight and get on sewing a few of them up. The next few will have some changes made. First, the flap will be wider. That way if you drop your bag, all your belongings won't go flying. The next change will be the addition of a detachable strap. I hope to get the pattern for this drafted up tonight so I can start on them before I go on vacation on the 19th.

What do you think about the Jenni Clutch. Is it something you'd carry?

Mascara

I loved the name when I first saw it.
Thank you Alichia for coming up with it. I have not started creating more Mascara bags this week. This time in white. Keep your eyes open for them to be listed in the store. I hope to take pictures of them today.

The ????

I came up with this bag over the weekend, but I am unsure of what to name it. I've already carried out and have recieved lots of compliments. I've taken it to work and the ladies love it. I already have a few orders for it. Now I need your help. I don't know what to name it. Leave me a comment or email me and let me know what you'd name it. You never know, I may like your idea and use it.

It's a multi tasker like most of us. It's a tote and a clutch. How great is that??? The handles, although wooden are very comfortable to carry. The size perfect as a small tote and folded in half as a clutch. I can carry my wallet, change purse, cellphone, iPod Touch, and other mom related items comfortably in this. Even with all I have, I can still use as a clutch.

More Eco Chic Grocery Totes

Just finished these. I am really liking my Eco Chic Grocery Totes and hope more folks get into using "earth friendly" bags. I was recently at Sam's club and saw that they sold a larger bag, but i wasn't really impressed with the quality of the material used. It almost felt like it was a coated paperbag. Two of them cost $2.99. I thought that was kind of a rip off considering they look like after 2 or 3 uses, they would be in the trash along with the ugly plastic grocery bags that you get from the grocery store.

My bags are larger than most the "fabric" style reusable bags found at your local grocery store. From looking at those bags, I would think they would hold less than the normal grocery sack. Anyhow, on to the new bags....

Hey Hey Hey, Part 2

So I decided to finally cut the fabric and came up with this. I cut out Albert and Bucky out and appliqued them to the front of this black cotton twill tote. The straps are longer than my usual straps and have a drop of 14 inches. This tote fits comfortable over your arm and hangs close to your hip. I am digging this bag so much, I don't think I want sell it, but my husband says I have to...

Eco-Chic Grocery totes

I have been approached on several ocassions regarding making some eco-friendly grocery totes.

I finally got a chance to sit down and really think about how big I would make a bag. I have been doing some research and most of the "handcrafted" bags I've seen on the market have been smaller, regular flat tote style bags. I wanted to incorporate the "tote" style into my design, but also make it really wide and functional for use as a grocery bag. I added sturdy cotton webbing handles, and double stitched all the seams for durability.

Although I am very happy with the way this bag has turned out, my wonderful husband has given me numerous ideas on how I can better it. Let's just hope that I have the time to create the new styles soon.

Sincerly,

New Style: Lexi

I have been wanting to create a new shoulder bag for a long while now. I sat down months ago and drafted up a pattern for what is now the "Lexi" bag. Originally, this bag had rectangular wooden handles and was deeper. I played with the size for a long time. I knew I wanted a rectangular bad that could hold a lot, but most of the samples came out too short. I thought that I had a lot of bags that were deep, so I shortened it to the height of the Mimi handbag but made it the length of another bag that I own.
I am very satisfied with the way it came out. I thought that it would have been too long, but it's just perfect. It's tall enough for you to securely place your items in, but not too deep that you lose them in the bottom. Since the bag is wider, you have plenty of light and room to look for items that may have been floating at the bottom. This bag is 7 1/2 inches high by 17 inches long and 3 inches deep. There's a flap and snap closure. The straps are a generous length with an 11" drop so that it fits snugly under your arm.
I am going to enjoy creating this new bag and hope to receive lots of custom orders for it this holiday season.
